AUSTRALIAN SHORT FILM TODAY's 2017 program was shown at De L'écrit à l'écran (From Writing to the Screen), a film festival held in the village of Montélimar in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region of France on 24 September 2017.

The program was screened at the Arnaud Soubeyran nougat factory. Montélimar is in the heart of the nougat region in France, and the Arnaud Soubeyran factory is the oldest nougat factory in Montélimar.

The festival's President is Alain Choquart, the well known French cinematographer who recently directed the feature film Ladygrey. This was the sixth year of the festival.
